Route

With three routes to choose from this is guaranteed to be a “Proper Hopper” for every rider. The long course is a rugged 104 miles with 14,000 ft of climbing and will go down as the most challenging and spectacular mixed terrain course in California. With three amazing aid stations you can tour or race and we’ll make sure you have an amazing day on the bike. For riders who want a proper challenge but don’t want to be out all day, the “Mediano” at 65 mi and 6,500 ft will treat you to a tour of the Ferndale farm land, a seasonal crossing over the Eel River and the famous Monument Rd gravel climb. And the “Short” course is still a challenging loop. The 33 mile loop climbs 3,400 ft from Scotia, up Monument gravel road and back to Ferndale.

Connecting people to place with purpose with always been the mission of the Grasshoppers and we are thrilled to collaborate with the town of Ferndale to bring you an epic ride, world class hospitality and a destination worthy of a long weekend with your friends and family.
